Cloud For managing Teaching and Learning
Cloud
is a combination of hardware, storage system, networking and interface that
will aid in delivery of the computing service. Cloud is storage and retrieve
service providing over the internet network. Cloud based learning helps the
lecturers student to access file storage, database, virtual library and e-resources,
anywhere, any time (Nicholson, 2015).
In
today world the method of learning has been changing, students want flexibility
in receiving the knowledge. People want to learn flexibly rather than going to
class and attend lecture. The cloud method is perfect tool for managing this
flexibility for the student. They can attend class or receive knowledge
whenever they want .Even teacher can provide knowledge with flexibility and
efficient manner to the student.
There
are lots of advantages of cloud method. Following are some advantages of the
cloud method:
a. When we use cloud technique for managing learning
system less no of teachers, classroom, books, materials are required.
b. The interaction between the students and professor
is very fast in cloud system.
c. It is also saves lots of time of student as well as
instructor.
d. Provide the fast access to the study material.
e. It helps in collaborative learning as we can access
to any university , organizations , institution.
f. It also gives equal education opportunities to the
learners.
The
disadvantages of cloud method are as follows:
a. Initial investment for implementing the system can become
costly.
b. It create gap between the old professors and
recently enter professor because old professors intend to follow the old method
of teaching instead of the new one.
c. The entire student may not have access to the
internet facility so it will become difficult to use such system in rural
school and colleges.
d. As it require fund to keep it up to date, some
universities may not able to run it in long time, because some universities are
government owned and some are private which is run on the basis of fund
provided by NGOs.
e. The system of cloud technology may become vulnerable
because hacker may hack the system and all the data of the institution and
organization may become accessible to them.
From
above we can say that cloud based learning is more effective for teaching and
learning activities. As students and lecturer can interact with each other fast,
can exchange the study material with flexibility, which will increase the
efficiency of both student as well as professor and the administration of the
institution. Student can learn from anywhere with their own pace. We can say
that cloud based method of teaching and learning is boon to education sector as
it helps everybody involve in education sector to make system of education more
flexible and efficient and time saving. This cloud based method can be seen
more effective during the COVID pandemic, where student can access to the study
material, and virtual laboratories for studying purpose. In overall we can say
that cloud technology is need of current education system which will make it
more scientific and access to the remote part as well when setup is done
correctly.
